2021 Super 'Sconnie

This wine is very limited, just one barrel produced. This is my riff on the famous “Super Tuscan” style of wines made in Tuscany Italy. Initially, pioneering winemakers in Tuscany chose to buck the traditional DOCG wine rules and produce Sangiovese based wines blended with Cabernet and Merlot. This wine is a blend of Paso Robles grown Sangiovese with the Silverado Napa Cabernet. I can’t legally label it a “Super Tuscan,” so we are calling it “Super ‘Sconnie,” with Sconnie being slang for Wisconsin.
